The AU Learning Conference is just over one month away! Plans are coming together nicely and AU is seeing a lot of interest and excitement in the event. CUPE 3911 hopes that some of our tutors and AEs will be making a significant contribution and demonstrating their academic prowess by doing a presentation. CUPE 3911 Executive members Glynnis Lieb, Dougal MacDonald, and Natalie Sharpe have put together a proposal for a panel on Theme 2 for the occasion.
You can find information about the conference on the conference website:
You can also register there if you haven't already, as well as get information on how to submit a proposal for a conference presentation. The proposal submission deadline was March 9th but depending on applications submitting one may still be possible. Check with the organizers.
AU has helpfully provided answers to some of the many questions from tutors and AEs about the conference, as follows:
- We have coordinated and pre-paid travel arrangements for anyone traveling to the conference from Calgary and surrounding areas. A chartered bus will depart to the Executive Royal Hotel in Leduc from Bow Valley College in Calgary at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018, and return at 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
- Food and refreshments will be provided during the conference for all attendees.
- As with the tutor conference over recent years, reimbursement for other eligible travel-related expenses will be limited to $200.00.
- All tutors and academic experts will be paid $100 for attendance at the conference.
If you have other questions, don't hesitate to let me (see below) know. We look forward to seeing you at the Learning Conference.
